WHO WE ARE
The Bedford Food Outreach is an ecumenical volunteer organization dedicated to providing food to needy families in our area.

WHAT WE DO
Currently housed in the Bedford United Methodist Church, the Bedford Food Outreach distributes food once monthly to over 250 families in our area.  Our food is donated by individuals, groups and local grocery stores.  We also purchase food from the Central PA Food Bank.  Our clients include families with young children, older individuals on fixed incomes and the handicapped.  We also provide food to displaced workers and stranded travelers.

A NEW LOCATION WOULD PROVIDE:
- Safe, handicapped access for our clients...
In our current home, clients must utilize several sets of dangerous stairs.

- Increased food storage...
Now, food must be stored behind the stage at the Bedford United Methodist Church requiring the laborious task shifting heavy pallets of food each time we have delivery and distribution.

- Ability to accept donation of refrigerated and frozen food...
Currently large donations of these items must be turned away because of limited cold storage space.

- Possibility of additional food distribution days....
With our shared quarters we require the generous accommodation of the Bedford United Methodist Church Community.

- Closer parking for our handicapped or older clients....
At present disabled or elderly clients must park, walk and carry food several blocks distance fr0m our facility.
